"The Big Hit" was produced in 1998 and was truly a big hit. The cast line up is pretty impressive - Mark Wahlberg, Lou Diamond Phillips, Christina Applegate, Bokeem Woodbine, and Antonio Sabato, Jr. However after watching this movie, I have to admit that my personal opinion is it is a big flop. The story of this action movie is that a group of four hitmen get together and in their greed, decide to kidnap the boss' goddaughter for a high ransom.
Though the movie is full of action and comedy (two things I usually like in a movie) this one has never been one that I could get into. In fact, I bought the movie because of all the big talk I had heard and it took me about 5 times to get through the entire thing. Every time I would go to watch it, I would either fall asleep or get bored and decide to get up and do other things around the house. It just has not held my attention. I did finally manage to make myself stay awake and focused thinking I would like it when I saw it all at once, but even after that I didn't enjoy it. On top of that, it is rated R and totally not appropriate for a family and with a young daughter, I find that these types of movies hold less and less interest for me as I want movies we can watch together.
