Katherine Hall Page has written a mystery series about Faith Fairchild, up and coming caterer. This novel, The Body In The Big Apple, goes back in time to when she was just starting out in New York in the late 1980s.
Faith Fairchild has a new catering company, Have Faith, and she is really excited by her growing popularity. When she comes across one of her high school chums, Emma, during a party that she is catering, little does she realize how things are going to change. Emma is being blackmailed and needs Faith's help. Emma's past hasn't been all that wonderful, and someone knows it and wants to expose her secrets to her husband, who is a politician and whose career could be in jeopardy, to say nothing of Emma's reputation. Faith wants to help her, and a murder or two is thrown into the story for good measure.
I enjoy the Faith Fairchild novels. This particular story gives the reader a chance to see what Faith's life was like in the beginning of her catering career. The story held my interest, and I like Faith as a heroine.
This is definitely a good read if you are looking for an easy, entertaining mystery novel with some recipes included in the back of the book!
