When I heard the name of this cleanser, at first I didn't necessarily want the sample. I thought maybe it would smell or look funky since it had charcoal in it. But, when the person I was trading with could not come up with a replacement product to substitute for this one, I figured, it's worth a try.
I have tried activated charcoal products before, like Origins Clear Improvement mask. That product was black, so I had the feeling this body wash would be a similar color. This shower gel was not black, but it was dark brown which was not a huge step up. It sort of reminded me of mud or ink. Another oddity of the product was the scent, it smelled like pine. I am not a big fan of that smell.
The sample I received was .33 fl. oz. (10 mL). A 8.4 fl. oz. size sells on DHC'swebsite for $15. Some of the standout ingredients in it are activated charcoal, eucalyptus oil, sage oil, horsetail extract, lemon extract and rosemary leaf extract.
I personally would not buy this shower gel as it did not agree with my olfactory tastes, but I can see other people liking it. It is very herbal and distinctive. It did not list pine in the ingredient list, so I think the fragrances I really smelled were the eucalyptus and rosemary. On thing I liked about the shower gel was that it was very good at sudsing up.
