I am here to write about Lego blocks, and I am doing it because I am a firm believer in toys like these. Basically you get a series of plastic blocks, which fit together, as you all know, but the fact that you can make just about anything with them, is down to your Child's imagination, which is the real clever bit.
Lego is a Danish Company, and the name comes from two Danish words LEG and GODT, whoch mean PLAY WELL! So, now you know. This is still a family firm, yes still in the same family, since it was formed in 1932, and nowadays is the fifth largest manufacturer of toys.
Children all over the World, spend an amazing FIVE BILLION Hours palying with these bricks every year! The Company actually makes bricks especially for classroom teachng in Schools. I am convinced these toys are a major training aid, and teach Kids a lot more than just finger dexterity, they learn to use their massive imagination, all through playing with little bits of plastic.
If you are really interested, you can go on the Lego website, and even download "Digital Designer" Software, and design Lego creations for yourself - errr, I mean for your Kids, of course.
All in all, I can thoroughly recommend these toys to every family, they are educational, safe, colourful, and great learning fun.
