I love JoAnna Carl's novels. She has written a series called the Chocoholic mysteries, and they really are interesting and tasty!
Lee McKinney is the business manager for her Aunt Nettie's chocolate shop, TenHuis Chocolade. They reside in Warner Pier, Michigan, a quaint little lakeside town. When Aubrey Andrews Armstrong, Hollywood producer, comes to town and makes claims that he is going to shoot a movie right there in Warner Pier based on a local lady's romance novel, the town is excited. But Lee doesn't feel right about the whole thing. She thinks Aubrey is a phony and does research on the Internet to back up her feeling. When Lee comes across a dead body and then Aubrey mysteriously disappears, after leaving his beloved chocolate lab, Monte, on Aunt Nettie's porch, Lee knows that something bad is going on here, and she also knows that she must put her sleuthing talents to use and find out exactly what.
This is an entertaining book, as all of JoAnna Carl's novels that I've read so far have proven to be. The author also puts some very interesting chocolate trivia in the book, and she gives some delicious descriptions of the chocolates that are made by TenHuis Chocolade.
I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next JoAnna Carl Chocoholic novel that I manage to get my hands on.
