Oliver Stone's, "The Doors" is a spectacular film on the life of the rock 'n' roll icon, Jim Morrison. Jim's rise from a California nobody trying to make his way through theater classes in college to a mega star is chronicled in the film. Val Kilmer does a great job as Morrison.
Morrison's creativity and genious were phenomenal. However, he was under the influence the majority of the time. This film really portrays a life of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. It sort of removes the glamour and reveals the hardships, pain and suffering associated with the fatal combination of fame, fortune and addiction. Not what it's cracked up to be for sure.
I really enjoyed the film. As a musician, I dreamed of a life as a star when I was a teen. Now, in retrospect, I can honestly say that I'm glad I never entered the world of rock 'n' roll. It must be a hard life, it certainly was for Morrison.
