I'm a huge Lord of the Rings fan (the books and movies) and The Hobbit is the prelude to the trilogy. I love the book so I bought the PC/Computer Game. This has to be one of the funnest games I've played on my PC. It's fairly simple to any experianced gamer but still very fun. It's a game I always come back to more often then my other PC games. I've beaten it numerous times.
In the game you play Bilbo Baggins (Uncle to Frodo Baggins from the Lord of the Rings books). He's a simple little Hobbit that ends up in the middle of this huge adventure with dwarves and a Gandalf the Wizard. They are off to the Lonely Mountain to defeat the dreaded dragon, Smaug, and win back the Lonely Mountain to the dwarves. During the journey they incounter many obsticles, such as getting lost or dwarf napped by goblins and giant spiders and poor simple Bilbo has to rescue his traveling party or him self. In one level Bilbo meets a strange creature named Gollum who has a strange ring that makes Bilbo invisiable when he wears it. This makes for very interesting game play because it allows Bilbo to sneak past dangers without being seen. It's fun to sneak up behind a goblin and take off the ring and let them have it. They see what's coming.
Over all this game is very entertaining expecially for anyone who enjoys the book. The game actually follows the book with only a few minor added stories or characters. Plus it's fun to be able to explore the wonderous Middle-Earth. The game is raited E for Everyone.
