Another installment of the best selling Left Behind series, the book "The Indwelling" is both powerful and dark in its storyline. The description on the book cover sets the scene: "The Beast Takes Possession."
This series is written by Christian authors Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins, and is based on the book of Revelations in the Bible. Although the book's plotline is based on Christian principles, this book is a good read for anyone who likes dramatic action/adventure stories. The book is easy to read, and anything based in Christianity is explained in great detail so as a reader, I was never lost.
This book follows the same characters that we have known since book one, and continues on with the progression of the Tribulation Force. We are faced with another death of a main character, and the rest of the group must go into hiding as they continue to spread the gospel among those left on earth during the seven-year Tribulation period.
The Indwelling also shows the rise of power of the Antichrist- and what a dramatic character he is! Even though the reader will love to hate him, you just can't help but to respect the great detail in which the authors go to make the characters seem "real, " like they could easily be some people that we know today.
This book does contain a bit of violence, maybe too much for younger readers, and it seems to increase with each book in the series. Other than that, the book is a good read, and I will recommend it to anyone.
