My son has had asthma since as long as HE can remember. When he was less than one the doctors called it "reactive airway disease." But I knew it was asthma. Anyway, he went through a stubborn period of not wanting to use his nebulizer. Not a good thing since he was almost always sick and used it just about every day at least once. As those of you with asthmatic kids collectively gasp, no his asthma was NOT well controlled. Thank god, the docs at Duke and Advair that today is a different story:0) At any rate, Barnes and Nobles and Walden books didn't have anything as far as an asthmatic story for kids. So, I scoured the internet and found 2 books, one being "The Lion Who Had Asthma." I bought them BOTH. We read them many, many times. And, like the little boy in the book, my son often pretended to be a jet pilot while the nebulizer machine was running. It helped with the battle to have a little make beleive while he was confined for his treatment.
