Behold the HTC shadow. I bought it in June 2009 with T-Mobile. The Shadow comes in two models, the older 2007 model and the new 2009 model, I will tell you about both of them shortly. This phone runs on Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 Standard. The display of the Operating System is very nice and looks very suitable on the Shadow. Also the shadow is the first windows mobile phone to come with a special menu, making those new to windows mobile devices able to navigate around their phone easily. According to T-mobile this phone is considered a smart phone. It features a 2.0 MP camera, voice command, and famous windows applications such as Microsoft office for mobile, Internet explorer with mobile web (I used skyfire for full web), solitaire, Windows Live, and Windows Media. It also includes built-in wi-fi and have a 20 key keyboard similar to what is seen on the blackberry pearl. Now the 2009 model of the shadow has a different shape from the 07. The 07 have more of a boxy looking design as the 07 design have more of a slender design. Also the back looks different, such as the camera. The buttons are almost the same but have more of a curvy sequence. My favorite feature of the shadow is the ability to use your phone as a modem for your computer. Now I do not recommend this because the connection isn't that fast, but if you are still stuck with Dial-up this might be a good resort until you are able to upgrade. Before I got Broadband this is what I used to connect my laptop to the Internet. the connection speed is only 10.0 Mbps, but it is faster than 56k. One problem I had with the phone was the battery. T-mobile told me that there was some sort of recall in the batteries being produced so they sent a new battery and back in the mail free of charge. the new battery is fatter than the original so they gave us the back so that it can fit snuggly over the fat battery. This gave the phone a little hump design in the back, but after a while you'll get used to it. The phone is very durable however. I cannot count how many I've dropped it in the past, and it got badly soaked in a heavy thunderstorm and is still up and running today. I am now no longer a customer of T-mobile but i still use this phone as a little PDA. I recommend this phone to anyone who want a nice phone with the full convenience of a hand-held computer but with simple controls and navigation. So what are you waiting for? Check it out today!
