Since I have food allergies, I need a multivitamin to help meet my nutritional needs. Spectrum Forte has the standard 13 vitamins, 16 minerals and a recent addition, lutein. One vitamin a day fulfills my daily requirements. I particularly like this formulation due to the healthy split of Vitamin A-3000 IU's of beta carotene, well within the safe limitations of 5000 IU's and 1000 IU's of Vitamin A acetate which are complimentary in both the absorption and manufacture of Vitamin A in the body. The B vitamin, folic acid content at .6 mg is slightly above the required .4mg which has been suggested as the minimum level for this vitamin for women of childbearing age. This has been advocated for the last few years as a preventative against the neural defect, spina bifida. Since neural development occurs in the early stages of pregnancy before a woman is aware she is expecting this is a protective, critical vitamin to take. I was pleased with the addition of lutein, the antioxidant that can protect the eyes against disease particularly macular degeneration which my Mom was showing signs of developing.
Spectrum Forte gives me peace of mind knowing I am getting the proper allotment of vitamins.
The only word of caution I would have is if you have difficulties swallowing pills, these are somewhat large.
I would, definitely, recommend these vitamins with a balanced diet to maintain your essential nutrients.
