I tried Depo-Provera when I wanted an easy form of birth control. I had tried a pill but couldn't use it long-term because it raised my blood pressure. I'm not that excited about needles but I thought Depo-Provera might be a good way to go.
This worked very well. The best part about this was that I didn't have a period at all the whole time I was using it. The downside - and the reason I quit using it - was that it was just plain inconvenient at the time. I had to order it from my pharmacy, pick it up from the pharmacy and then bring it to the doctor's office and wait sometimes an hour until they had time to inject me.
Some nurses wanted to inject it in my arm and some in my hip. I don't know why.
The thing to know about Depo-Provera is that once you go off it, you may not have a period for six months. This is important information my doctor didn't tell me. For a couple of months there I was concerned I might be pregnant.
So all in all, this is a good product. I'd recommend it, and I might even go back on it one day.
