The Notebook is one of my favorite movies of all time and I watch it as often as I can. It has a wonderful story line, amazing characters, and beautiful music to go along with it all. It's also a movie I can watch with my children, as it is rated PG 13 and has a story that everyone can follow.
I really enjoy romance movies, as I am really a romantic myself, and this movie has so much romance. The characters are really believable, I can definitely imagine people in the real world just like Noah and Allie. I fell in love with both of these characters right away, they seemed so honorable and sweet, but also totally genuine. They talked in everyday language, not using words that seemed too technical, just down to earth. They seemed like people that I would want to befriend in my life, people that I would want to be around.
The overall story is also totally believable, this is something that could happen to anyone that falls in love so young in life. There was nothing too amazing in the movie, that is except for their love, but isn't love always amazing? I know I want the love between my husband and I to always be amazing, this is something that I think everyone strives for and can imagine wanting.
The movie was also very suspenseful, it left me on the edge of my seat, waiting to find out who Allie was going to choose to be with. Of course, I knew who I wanted her to pick, but you have to imagine yourself in her place and try to decide what you would do. I'm glad that I have never been in that sort of situation, I know it would be hard to make a decision and not hurt anyone.
In the very end I always cry as I see Allie and Noah lie together in bed and drift away, knowing that they are going to a better place. It's a bittersweet ending, bitter because I hated to these characters pass away, but sweet because their love takes them away together. I realize this is what they wanted, to go to Heaven together, and I think it completes the story in a peaceful way. It is amazing twist in the movie, I can honestly say I never expected it.
Overall, I think this is an amazing and wonderful love story that makes you believe in all the miracles that true love and romance can bring. It opens your heart, fills your eyes with tears, and gives you hope that anyone can have an amazing life filled with love.
