I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical about buying the Conair Tourmaline Styling System. I was in the market for a new blow dryer, but I'm used to higher-end brands. I saw it while shopping at Costco and picked it up on a whim, and I'm so happy I did! This low-priced Conair dryer works better than any pricy one I've ever owned.

First, I'll cover what the set includes: a tourmaline dryer, a tourmaline ceramic cushion brush, a round thermal styling brush, a concentrator (for straight styles), and a diffuser (for wavy/curly styles).

My hair is naturally wavy, so I decided to give the diffuser a try first. I loved it because it kept my natural waves in tact while smoothing the hair, so I didn't have any frizziness. Another thing I really enjoyed was the "fingers" of the diffuser. They are fat and rounded, so it is very comfortable to use--almost like getting a scalp massage!

The dryer works just as well for straightening as it does for creating wavy styles. As I mentioned previously, my hair is naturally wavy. VERY wavy. To make my hair straight, I usually have to blow it dry and use a ceramic straightening iron. Not anymore! The concentrator makes it so easy to get my hair straight, smooth and sleek--even on the cool setting! This way, I don't damage my hair with heat styling. The best part? I didn't even have to use a brush while drying. I just finger-combed as I dried my hair with the concentrator.

Although I don't use the cushion brush in combination with the dryer, I do use it before and after, and I absolutely love it! I figured that it wouldn't be a great brush since it was just part of a set with a blow dryer, but I was so wrong. It is a big, cushioned paddle brush, with both plastic and nylon bristles. The plastic bristles detangle the hair, while the nylon bristles smooth, making this brush perfect for finishing straight hair styles.

I don't use round brushes, so I can't review the one included in this set. However, if it is even half as good as the other pieces of the set, you will love it!

A few extra details about the dryer: it has a hinged filter so you can clean it out, 3 heat settings, and 2 speed settings, so you can really customize the drying experience to fit your individual needs. I also like that it is fairly lightweight--there's nothing worse than arm fatigue from drying your hair! I can't recommend this set highly enough!
