How to describe this game? Well, the word 'dull' comes to mind. For every fun, cool, and entertaining hidden object game, there are about 40 dull, repetitive, too-easy hidden object games. The Return of Monte Cristo is one of the latter. The 3D/image quality is not the greatest, although the objects are (for the most part) at least clear enough to be able to tell what they are when you find them. The color is a little drab, which adds to the dull atmosphere. The audio is somewhat silly and annoying. Along with the hidden objects, each scene includes a key to be found, to unlock another scene. Most scenes also include a task that needs to be performed (a task which is so easy, it hardly seems worth the game creator having taken the time to have bothered with it), in order to find one of the hidden objects. It is not a short game (it goes on for quite a while), but you keep revisiting the same scenes over and over - it gets old. The puzzles are too basic to be any fun. I would say the game is suitable for age 7 - adult, but after the first hour or so, it really is a dull game.
