I found some outstanding work gloves by accident recently. They were on a seasonal rack in the grocery store where I work and were reasonably priced. I can always use a good pair of gloves and so they ended up in my shopping cart.
These work gloves have become the pair I keep in my locker at work so that they are handy for me on days that I work in the floral department. It turns out they are perfect for the job.
The Roc work gloves are made of bamboo fiber, which makes them very comfortable. My hands stay cool and dry inside them while I work, which is not always the case with other work gloves I use. The palm side of the gloves are coated with latex for gripping and seem to provide a bit of cushioning at the same time.
During a four hour shift, the tasks I perform include filling dozens of buckets with water, lifting, stacking, moving, unstacking, and opening full boxes of flowers, chopping ends (this step requires a special cutting glove as well on one hand), placing in buckets, and dispersing full buckets and bouquets of flowers. Cleanup then involves breaking and properly disposing of cardboard boxes, composting waste, and cleaning buckets. All of these tasks are done with my gloves for protection and they remain comfortable from the time I don them until the job is done.
Other gloves I have used have been good at protecting my hands, but have not always kept my hands from sweating inside, and have not ever been such a perfect and comfortable fit. I chose a size Large because I have long fingers and find stubby fingers in gloves very uncomfortable. While there is a little slack in the fabric in the large size, it doesn’t bother me because the elasticized wrist fits well.
I will look for this brand again when the need arises and I definitely recommend The Roc work gloves by HandMaster.
