The Shield is a hard-hitting police drama series that airs on the FX network. Here is my usual quick synopsis of the show: The Shield is show about a strike team in a fictional city in Sourthern California's Farmington. Michael Chiklis plays Detective Vic Mackey who is morally gray. While he is a crooked cop, Mackey is known for being one of the best detectives in the Farmington police department. Additionally, he is a devoted father who would do anything to protect his family.
Because the series is filmed in a style where it seems as if the audience was watching a home made video, the visual quality isn't that great. However, it works to the shows advantage. The series is meant to be more realistic and the visual set up is complimented by the audio. Although there aren't any real mind blowing sound effects or music (the creator didn't want a lot of music), the sound is still crisp quality.
As usual, I did not really go into the extras because I don't find it to be all that important but they are excellent. They have deleted scenes, extra informations, casting auditions, and making of The Shield. I really enjoyed the extras because I always feel like the episodes are too short! Overall, I recommend it for everyone.
