The Simpsons Game is the recent incarnation of the lovably troublesome yellow family from Springfield.
Plot: Springfield is in trouble, and the Simpson family has to help. To do so, they must battle aliens, sumo wrestlers, futurama characters, Matt Groening, and even win a dance off with God himself, all the while enduring the sarcasm of Comic Book Guy.
The gameplay is fun, and offers enough challenge to keep even more experienced gamers entertained. The storyline flows fairly well, and the game incorporates most elements and references from the show.
You can interact with anyone, and run around a 3D Springfield, but you can only go into a select few buildings, which is a bit of a disappointment.
The game itself is fairly short if you're skilled, it took me about 2 days of on-and-off play to finish it.
The biggest disappointment in this game is the cut-scene graphics: they're simply terrible. The game creators tried to recreate the cartoon effect in a video game setting, but instead ended up with poorly designed eyesores.
If you are interested in this game, I wouldn't recommend buying new. Look areound for a used copy and save yourself a bit of money.
Overall, a good game for Simpsons fans, but not the best choice for the more experienced gamers.
- C'mon. The Simpsons
- Storyline isn't bad
- Mini-games are cute
- Terrible graphics
- Not worth the $60 MSRP
