The Sims Makin' Magic is my favorite of all the expansion packs for The Sims 1 computer game. You need to have Sims 1 installed on your PC in order to use Makin' Magic. If you like magic or the idea of casting spells or if you dream about turning people into frogs, you need to buy Makin' Magic.
If you played Sims 1 before you already know there are little people that you are in charge of. You make them, name them, and then decide how they will end up.
Makin' Magic adds a new land to the regular Sims game called Magic Town. In order to visit Magic Town, your Sims call for a ride. A cool mode of transportation comes to fetch them. I don't want to spoil that surprise.
Once they are in their choice of Magic Town areas, they can go explore and even ride the little roller coaster, but if they want to move to Magic Town, they need to earn gold coins. This makes things more difficult for your Sims because in other expansion packs, all they needed to move was enough money to buy a house. I like the new gold coin challenge.
There are lots of new objects in Makin' Magic plus some new social interactions like the ability to levitate. My favorite of these is the ability to cast spells. You need ingredients to do this. You can buy some of these, you can grow some of these, but the most rare ingredients can only be had by being sent on quests. I love this part of the game.
There are new townies and some new neighbors, including a vampiress and a snake charmer. I love the new music in Makin' Magic. Sims games have some of the coolest tunes.
I can't say enough good things about this expansion pack. It is great to play especially around Halloween.
