We all know, of course, that we should get more exercise. More exercise is probably the number one best way to lose weight. Add to that sensible eating, and you’ve got a sure-fire way to drop those extra pounds.
The Step Diet is a fun way to incorporate more exercise into our busy lives. It is also very simple. Included in the box are a book and a pedometer. The pedometer is the key. The book has a formula to help you figure out exactly how many steps you should be taking every day for optimal health – hence the name “The Step Diet”. You wear the pedometer all day. It is surprising how many steps we do take in a day. Mine was about 6, 000. Trouble is, I need 10, 000! That means I need to add walking to my daily routine in order to have a healthy level of exercise. The benefits of walking really are the focus of the book. The premise of the “diet” is to burn more calories than you take in. Back to basics.
All in all, I found the book and pedometer easy and fun to use and effective when I stuck with it. If you are looking for a way to optimize your good health, this is an easy plan to follow and the pedometer makes it interesting.
