I didn't know these sorts of hotels existed. Other than the beautiful design, architecture, and location of the Trump Tower, the service was simply amazing.
When I arrived at the front of the hotel in a cab, there was immediately a doorman to open the cab door for me and a bellboy to take my luggage up to my room. As I walked in past the heating lamps located above the waiting area outside the hotel, I was greeted by a beautiful lobby. Check in was quick and easy, no problems whatsoever. I was in my room within 5 minutes of arriving at the hotel. Also, while I checked in, my little brother was given a complementary "goody bag", in which there were some stuffed animals and other such things.
When I got to my incredible room, there were plates with giant cookies on them waiting for us. Each plate had one giant cookie, and one of our name's written on in chocolate. I was amazed. Never in my life had I experienced that sort of thing.
The room had a nice view, comfortable beds, free wi-fi, a nice plasma screen TV, a DVD player, and a magnificent bathroom. We were given the option to order either a PlayStation 3 or an Xbox 360 to our room, along with games - complementary. There was a set of easy to use, changable weights in the room - a big plus for me, as I like to keep my arms toned ;]. Room service was not the slightest bit more expensive than any Marriott or Sheraton I've ever been to. A technician was immediately sent up every time we called for help with something. Blankets and other accomidations were also brought to us, never with any additional costs.
During my stay, there was a little incident - a child had pooped in the pool, and so it was closed when we wanted to go swimming. The staff apologized, and asked for our room number. We went out for a few hours, and when we came back, a bowl of popcorn was waiting for us, along with a note, apologizing for the inconvenience, and telling us that we had been given a free pay-per-view movie as an ammendment.
We were able to get cabs at any time, and the staff checked-in to our flight for us ahead of time (free of charge), as well as making resrevations and ordering tickets for us upon request (free of charge). Most locations in downtown Chicago were withing walking distance, though.
Although the Trump Tower Hotel can be a bit pricey at times, I would most definitely say it is worth every penny. Never in my life have I been to such a great hotel - I didn't know they existed.
