Twitter, Facebook, and Myspace applications- what more could someone ask for?! The recently created Sidekick '09 comes with these three apps, free of charge. Along with this, the '09 has the ability to play videos on websites such as YouTube. However, the video quality is not that great, and buffering constantly occurs. The camera is a 3.2 megapixel, that includes auto focus and an LED flash. But, the camera does have a delay, meaning although you hear the "click" the photo is still not developed. The display of the phone is beautiful. The screen is very clear, and the keyboard lights up brightly! The sound is clear and much louder than past sidekicks. Yet, there are some serious thumbs down when it comes to this phone. For one, the '09 is constantly losing wireless service, causing AIM, Yahoo, and Windows Live Messenger- to become really frustrating. Secondly, the sidekick constantly lags and sometimes even freezes, a big problem. As far as the applications go, both Twitter and Myspace are great and easy to use. However, the Facebook app is not up to par, as it doesn't update a lot and does not notify a user when someone comments on there status, wall, etc. The battery life of this phone is okay, but it could be much better as it does not even last me a whole day, even with minimal use. T-Mobile claims this sidekick has a 3G network, but that is almost hard to believe; the internet can be very slow. Although I'm a huge fan of Sidekicks, this one just doesn't quite impress me. The phone is originally priced at $449.99, but you can purchase it for $199.99 if you are an existing customer and you're able to upgrade, or a new customoer willing to make a 2 year contract agreement. Overall, I believe the phone is not worth either of the asking prices. My best advice, is to avoid this phone and wait for a improved one, this phone is surely not what it was cracked out to be.
