I've been struggling with seborrheic dermatitis, aka dandruff, for quite a while. The typical "dandruff" shampoos out there use one of several standard ingredients to treat dandruff: Ketoconazole (Nizoral), selenium sulfide, pyrithione zinc, salicylic acid, or coal tar. These ingredients are fine and tend to be effective for most when used properly. However, I've never been happy enough with a dandruff shampoo to use it daily; dandruff shampoos historically just don't leave your hair feeling too nice. Plus, they all use sodium lauryl sulfide (SLS), which some people (like me) are sensitive to, making flakes and itching even worse!

TheraNeem shampoo, however, is different. While there are shampoos that leave my hair with more body, smelling nicer, etc., TheraNeem is the only SLS-free shampoo that I can use daily that treats my dandruff. After 1-2 weeks of using this shampoo, my scalp is flake and itch free! The secret is neem, a plant from India which is anti-inflammatory, thereby controlling seborrheic dermatitis. Since the results are long-lasting, I can use other shampoos several days a week just as long as I use this shampoo enough to keep the flakes at bay.

Bottom line: an alternative, SLS-free, effective treatment for dandruff due to seborrheic dermatitis
