This necklace is quite old. It was given to me by a relative a long time ago. When I received it, I may have been 8, but I could have been 12. I don't remember.
I have a history of losing things. It saddens me deeply when I lose jewelry. Through all this time, somehow, I have never lost this piece.
The design of the necklace is the simplest of simple. It is a string of freshwater pearls on sturdy thread with some gold beads by the clasp. Very classic, very timeless.
The necklace is 17 1/4 inches long when the necklace is unclasped and laid out. Even though I got this as a young girl, it still fits me!
I am shocked at how long it has lasted. The string of freshwater pearls has never broken. Nothing looks worse for the wear. The pearls are still an opalescent, shimmery white.
Perhaps the only thing I would change would be the clasp. It is a screw-on barrel clasp. It can definitely be tricky screwing the clasp together.
