Community National Bank is available in certain communities in southern Ohio, but my experience has been so bad that I wanted to be sure to report it here in case any of you fellow reviewers live in the area. I first had a regular savings account, which I never had any problems with. I also had a checking account at Whitaker bank when I lived in Kentucky, and never had any problems with it. With this checking account, however, the problems were never-ending. First, there is a monthly fee, which Whitaker Bank did not charge. It is only $1 a month, so I overlooked that. It was also $10 for a debit card. They asked if I wanted my savings account connected to my checking, so I said yes to prevent overdrafts. They also told me about an overdraft protection that came with my account. I signed some papers for this and was on my way. Within the first month, I overdrafted. They claimed that I had not filled out the correct paperwork to have my checking and savings accounts linked together, but I specifically remember filling out these papers. Recently, I overdrafted again. This was due to the fact that I drove to the ATM to check my account balance. It said I had $77 in my account, so I went to get some dinner at Burger King. As luck would have it, the bank had not updated anything and things I purchased a week ago were still not in the system, so the balance that the ATM showed was not correct. Of course this caused me to overdraft. And still, they have not managed to link my savings to my checking as promised. I am sick of paying their fees and am fed up with them never updating the accounts. They are also constantly sending me email updates which are never correct or on time. It is difficult to manage my finances with this confusion. Other members of my family are constantly running into the same problems with this bank due to their unprofessional approach to keeping track of their system. I have decided to close my checking account with them and wait until I return to school in the fall so that I can continue to bank with Whitaker Bank. I never ran into these issues with them.
