It doesnt matter where you live these days, Everyone wants to feel safe. Well, I mived out of state, and really wanted to get a security system for my new house.
I checked the national companies, but then you have to sign a contract, and pay them a monthy minitoring charge. I didnt want to do that, not knowing what my future would be in my new surroundings.
My new neighbor suggested I try a wireless monitoring system, I could install myself. I had no idea these were more available than ever, and they are so easy to install and use!
I found this product online (those of you that read my reviews, see I do A LOT of online shopping!).
I got the box, and thought, this is it?? Its so small... ok, I guess its supposed to be small. I got the directions out, and they were very easy to read and understand. I had this hooked up and installed in an afternoon.
This company, has a bunch of different models, but this one, has 1 controller (receiver and keypad)
1- 4 button keyfob, 2 magnetic contacts, 1 wireless detector, 1 transofrmer, and a backup battery.
You can buy extra equipment for this system, but for my house, and me, this was all I needed. Optional equipment includes a fire sensor, and cameras. If you hook up a camera there is internet connectivity, so you could connect to see what it going on.
This has a lof o nice features. The detection system, allows you to change it to varying degrees, based on normal activity in your house, like kids, or pets. It took me about an hour, to get it just right, so my two dogs wouldnt set it off. So far, in 7 months, they havent set it off.. But we tested a person, and it will go off, so I know its working.
Another great feature, is that you can set it up to call 4 different phone numbers. You can call your cell, and it will tell you if the alarm has gone off. You can also turn it off by the telephone, or the keyfob, if you are outside.
It comes with 2 door, or window sensors, you can put them in either, and you could purchase more if you need it. I put these in my front and back door, and there are no wires to run! What a fantastic thought.
Overall, this takes an afternoon to set up, but its working great, once you do get it set up. Its very easy to use afer set up, turn on, off, passwords, phones, etc. I recommend this if you do not want to spend a fortune, or have to be tied down to a national service.
