Throw Away Those Lipliners!

I am the epitomy of an over zealous Lipstick monger! I have more lipsticks than most local pharmacies or department stores - well, if you listen to my family that is. In reality, I do have a lot but what to do when you are on the hunt for that perfect shade that will not only look natural but last, I ask you. You can't simply try every shade on in the store and the "hand" test, applying a bit of the lipstick from the tester tube doesn't always work out the way you envisioned it would on the lips - so sometimes, you just have to keep looking.

Well, the other day a new display of lipsticks by Sally Hansen caught my eye. These lipsticks are in uniquely shaped tubes, all gold with a sort of diamond shaped tip that has a clear plastic window to allow you to see the color of the lipstick. The lipstick itself is shaped very similarly to the tube, with a similar "diamond" like appearance.

The shape of the lipstick is designed to Sculpt and define the lips without the need of a lipliner and I have to say, it does a great job! This lipstick goes on very smoothly and literally does allow you to define your lip line without the extra steps involved to do so.

The shade I chose is called Baroque which is sort of a pink bordering on a Nude shade - it is quite natural looking and although it doesn't last 8 hours it does last through cocktails & dinner just fine - not diminishing enough that you feel that you have to rush to the powder room to reapply it.

Except for the fact that most of the shades in this new line are somewhat on the darker side, the Baroque shade works quite well for those with fairer skin and lighter hair.

This lipstick leaves my lips feeling smooth and soft and the shape of the lipstick itself seems to remain intact with use provided you use it as it is designed to be used - the flat side of the lipstick tube against the lips with the pointed tip against the lip line.

I'd purchase this lipstick again - for the price it does do away with the need to outline the lips with my clear lipliner and so far I've not had any issues with the lipstick feathering or smearing.

The one thing I have found though is that due to the shape of the tube you want to be careful when replacing the cap as I have found myself nicking the tip of the lipstick because I tried to put the cap on incorrectly, but that's a minor concern for me.

I'd recommend this product to others especially as a "put it on and go" lipstick for those times when you want definition and quick application.
