After searching various stores for an activity mat for my daughter, I decided on the Tiny Love Super Deluxe Gymini With Lights And Music. I was shocked to see how expensive activity mats were! Many of them are $70 and up! So I was pleased to find this brand for under $60. It's bright, and comes with several toys. The music isn't annoying and the lights work well. After a few minutes of playing, the music shuts off and will turn back on if you or the baby hits the flower bed on the mat...so it is kick activated. It plays Mozart and Nursery Rhymes. If you want to use the kick activated function to teach your child cause and effect, then you can put it on the Nursery Rhyme setting, since it only plays one, then stops, and the child has to kick in order for it to play the next one. The mozart is continuous for a set number of minutes.

The first time we used this, my daughter was 8wks old, and she just laid there smiling. She stayed on it for about 20 minutes, which was amazing! Now, she's close to 5 months and she kicks and pulls everything and loves it! She starts kicking when she sees me bring it out. It's a great way to give your child floor time, and also works well for Tummy Time. She absolutely hated Tummy Time until we got this mat, since she likes to look at the pretty baby in the mirror! Speaking of mirrors...I have noticed on other baby toys, the mirrors are often kind of distorted...not this one...it's a very good, large mirror. She can see herself clearly and loves to stare at it.

There are also extra holes on the toys bars so you can attach more toys or move the existing toys around. There is a squeaker on the mat, as well as crinkley flaps and raised areas they can pull on.

This was a very good buy, worth the money and it serves it's purpose. It also washes very well, dries quick and retains it's shape.
