To Kill a Mockingbird is an all too famous novel by Harper Lee. Today, it is regarded as a masterpiece in American literature. It became an instant bestseller and a critical success when it was first published, which was in 1960. It won the Pulitzer Price in 1961. To date, there are 18 million copies. It has been translated into 10 languages. There was also a movie made about it, which won an Academy Award, and is also a classic. The unforgettable novel is about a childhood in a Southern town, and a crisis of conscience that rocked it. The book really allows people to analyze the roots of human behavior - innocence, experience, kindness, cruelty, love, hatred, pathos, and humor. The young Alabama woman in the story has claimed everyone's interest. The author, Harper Lee, always regarded this book to be a simple love story. I have not always been a fan of literature, but this book really caught my interest, and after I picked it up, I could not even put it down. Anyone that reads this book will be a fan, I guarantee it. I highly recommend buying this book, as it's not even that expensive, at $7.99. Hope you enjoy it, too.
