I am one of those wives who absolutely abhor video games and systems. For one, I cannot understand what is so important about the latest Halo or Zelda, or even comprehend how to play the games! Secondly I hate the time it takes to play video games that could be put to better use. Third, I hate to spend money on something so trivial. All of those great arguments died when I tested out a Nintendo Wii at the mall. Wielding that remote around, making the Mii character hit a tennis ball or throw a baseball pitch was some cool action! You can go bowling, play golf, play football (I am interested in playing Madden), box (some great cardio!) or do just about anything imaginable. Nintendo has indeed made a remarkable product, as I had to search for months to find my own Wii. I am so hooked on my Nintendo Wii that I surprised my husband with my newfound skills.

My children, ages 3 and 6, get a kick out of doing the sports games that come with the console, as that is all that I will allow them to play. It is a fairly good workout, also. I do ration out the time I spend on the Wii, but find that if I have a spare moment I like to try to beat my best score. How addicting! The accessories you can buy for the Wii are also great, the remote control gripper especially. For a fraction of what a Playstation 3 or XBox 360 cost, the Wii is more fun for the average player as well as more economical. Now if I could just stop being so competitive with my husband....
