I grew up in Toledo and only went to a few Mud Hens games before they moved to their new stadium. Since that time, I have only gotten to see about 3 games, but I can't wait to go to more!
The Mud Hens stadium is technically called Fifth Third Field. This was the bank that helped back the stadium while it was being built. It is located in Downtown Toledo and has brought a great new look and life to Downtown.
Some of my favorite things about this stadium is all the little statutes and play areas for kids. They really made this stadium family friendly. They even have family picnic tables behind the outfield. You can have huge birthday parties or family outings in that area. There are 2 mascots that walk around entertaining the kids, Muddy (boy) and Muddonna (girl).
I like that the stadium is big and professional looking, but still have a home town feel. Of course the parking, concessions, and gift shop prices are high. But a ticket is very reasonable. There are plenty of special days you can go on and get deals also. You can even take you dog on one day! I took my dog one year and got to walk on the field with him for a dogie parade!
