My son has been wearing glasses1.5 years now. He does really well keeping them in place. Very proud of him. Our initial purchase for glasses involved selecting something nice but durable. I didn't want him to wear the "bottle cap" glasses so I spent a little more money each time. Our first pair was wire rim and they had the nose piece . Well the nose pieces kept getting bent and he did eventually break the arm of that first pair. We got it repaired and it happened again. So duck tape was our next option or buy a new pair. The duck tape worked for quite some time as it works for most anything. My son then had a new appointment in which the doctor wanted to increase the perscription and have us find a new pair of glasses. We like to get glasses close to home in case they break and we can get them repaired easily. Our eye appointments are out of town with a specialist. So we took our new perscription to our local eye doctor, the same one where we got the first pair and started looking again. We were very pleased with the service there for the first pair. We happened upon a pretty cool pair of glasses. I couldn't believe these were for toddlers & children. To my surprise, the name on the arm said Tommy Hilfiger. Yes, that sounds good. I love his clothing line, one of my favorites. The glasses are all plastic, a plus. Let me tell you, plastic does make a difference. You don't have those eyepieces cutting into their nose and leaving a red impression. The color is certainly different, black frame with green on top and inside. The green really stands out against the black. There are black stars on the inside frame. They look so nice. He looks so intellectual with them on and so stylish for a 2.5 year old. This type frame is very popular now. I want my son to look cool not geeky. Also compared to the wire rim, these glasses are so durable. We bought them in January '09 and no breakage yet! We use a strap to hold them on just like the last pair. So if you are looking for glasses for your child, I recommend the plastic frame Tommy Hilfiger brand!
