It didn't take long for Toshiba to become my number one choice in laptops, and I will tell you why in here.
My current laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A300 that I got in the summer.Gaming aside, this was easily my best pick, ( which means for doing things such as surfing the internet, listening to music, or just work). Its speficications are the following : 2 GB RAM, 250 GB Storage, Intel Core 1.8 Ghz Dual Core, Intel 965 Express Chipset Family 358 MB for graphics.
So far, It has been running very smoothly, its 17" monitor, running at 70Hz is excellent, a built-in Web Camera is very comfortable because I don't have to get tired with the messy set up of a new webcam. The Harman/Kardon built in speakers makes it the loudest laptop I have seen so far. The mouse pad is very easy to use and not "slippery" like in other laptops like HP. An all in all very friendly pack, offering the most features at the same time.
Two little downsides for me are the weight, since I travel alot, I already have a problem with my shoulder because I always carry it around ( users who are most likely to keep it at home shouldn't worry), the second little annoying thing is the buttons which are most likely to start falling after heavy use, my "H" keeps popping out
My family has always used Toshiba laptops, and from my personal observation I can assure you that Toshiba are the laptops that are most likely to serve you the longest time without any technical problems
