Now I must admit when these fitness balls first came on the scene I laughed. I thought there is no way I can balance my fat butt on this thing and actually get a workout. Boy was I wrong. It's going on four years now but I lost quite a decent amount of weight and the fitness ball was part of my daily workout and still continues to be.
I was on the lookout for a new fitness ball as my other one was on it's last leg and I came across this ball in TJ Maxx. I couldn't pass up the price tag of $12.99. It's 65cm which is a little bigger than the one I had but I was looking for a slightly larger one anyway.
The ball is black in color and came with it's own foot pump. I think the best thing about this purchase was watching my dog's reaction when I tried to pump up the ball! The pump made this whooshing sound which sent my dog over the edge. She tried to bite it and wouldn't stop barking. I finally had to go into my bedroom and close the door, leaving her out so I could pump it up.
The ball works great and is very sturdy and seems quite strong. I'm not sure what the weight limit is for the ball, probably around 250lbs. It also came with a little handout of about 13 different exercises to do on the ball. I thought the handout was great because I knew some of them but not all so I was able to add a few more exercises to my normal workout.
I love using the ball in my workouts and I think it's really great for doing crunches. It really supports your back and it's 100 times better than doing crunches on the floor. If you don't currently use a fitness ball in your workout, well...what are you waiting for? Go get one!
