When I first saw these tree decorations at Menards, I laughed and said that I wanted one. The faces definitely draw the eye, even at a store. Made of hard resin that looks exactly like tree bark, each "face" consists of four separate pieces: two eyes, nose, and mouth. The pieces are mounted onto a tree trunk, and your tree suddenly has a face - and personality! You can pick one that frowns, or smiles, or even sticks its tongue out. There was one that boasted some rather ugly looking, moss-covered teeth.
I did not want to go to extremes, so I picked one with a moderate expression; the face looks like it is about to give you a kiss. Like most other tree faces, it was available in two sizes, large and small. We have two large pine trees in our yard, so the large size fits us better. The faces were on sale, too; they normally cost around $15 and we got one for $10.
I smile every time I look at the pine tree that now looks back at me. It is a hit with all visitors, too (with some getting startled), especially kids.
