Leslie Meier has written a mystery series called the Lucy Stone Mysteries. Trick or Treat Murder is one of the books from this series.
In Trick or Treat Murder, Lucy Stone is taking care of new baby, Zoe, and looking after her husband and other three children. The little town of Tinker's Cove is gearing up for Halloween, and everyone is helping get things ready for the festival. Lucy has the job of whipping up twelve dozen cupcakes, plus getting costumes ready for her kids to wear for Halloween. But a rash of fires in Tinker's Cove is putting a damper on the festivities, especially when one of the fires results in a death, the victim being someone Lucy knew and liked very well. Lucy soon suspects that the death was actually murder and not just an accident. When she starts asking questions around town to see what she can find out, it soon becomes apparent that Lucy is getting too close for someone's else comfort.
Trick or Treat Murder is a great book for reading around Halloween, though I enjoyed reading it now, four months later. Leslie Meier writes an interesting story, and I enjoyed this book, as well as the others I have read from her Lucy Stone mystery series.
