Tropic thunder is a action comedy film based on the Vietnam War. Here actors (Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr and Brandon T. Jackson) are prima donna actors who behave unreasonably and cause delays in the film and casued $4 Million worth of explosives go up with no cameras rolling. Les Grossman (Tom Cruise), a billionaire media mogul gets angry and takes it out on Damien Cockburn (Steve Coogan). Desperate to save his job and the film, he follows Vietnam veteran John "Four Leaf" Tayback's (Nick Nolte) advice and leaves his actors in the middle of nowhere and has planted cameras all over the place to document the film.
Later in the film, they end up in the Golden triangle where the heroin-producing Flaming Dragon gang resides and they are mistaken for law enforcement agents. Tugg Speedman (Ben Stiller) is captured and forced to play Simple Jack several times a day. They then demand ransom for him. Les Grossman doesn't care and uses the situation to hunt for insurance money. Meanwhile the other three actors rescue him. Will he be rescued or will he be killed? Find out on this DVD.
I liked the movie because it was full of action and funny moments. They even had fake films play as trailers before the movie. There was even a commercial for a bogus energy drink. I especially like Robert Downey Jr's acting. He acted and talked like an African American! There were also a lot of explosions and shooting scenes. This movie was worth the watching!
