Twelve Ordinary Men is written by John McArthur and takes a good focused look at the twelve men that Jesus kept closest to him-his 12 apostles. John McArthur is a well known and respected author of the Christan scene, and this book is probably one of his best.
I love this book, it is one of the best books written on the 12 apostles I have ever found-there is not a lot of information in the Bible about these 12 men, with an exception in the Gospels of really only 4 of them. So McArthur takes the little we are given about them and tries to flesh out an understanding of them and how to apply that to our own, weak lives. We are all simple and sinful like the men here, and we all need to learn to grow. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a good feel of the 12 and how to learn from them.
