Both my daughters own Ty Girlz. They are Ty's answer to the popular toy, Webkinz, but targeted at girls only. The dolls resemble Groovy Girls, but with a Bratz-type edge to them. They are funky, but not trashy like Bratz dolls can look. They have a good selection of Girlz...you can find one to fit your daughter's look or get one that's a little more colorful (my 9 year old has one with long brown hair like her, my almost 4 year old has a long blond hair one with pink highlights).
These dolls have a "secret code" attached to them that you use to get on their website and create a room, wardrobe, and chat with other kids with the dolls (with limited, set comments and parents permission via email). They design their rooms and earn money playing different games to add items to their rooms and wardrobe.
My daughters have several. There are a total of ten girls. My oldest says there are special things you can do when you have all ten (sounds like a marketing ploy to make you buy all ten!). They enjoy shopping and fashion shows the most. It's a fun interactive website for tween girls (has to be their target).
Overall, it's a good toy, though not a very educational one.
