Yes, I know the UH Warriors lost but, hey they were 2nd best & no matter what people from Hawaii will always be proud of them! The flight from Hawaii to New Orleans is a good 12+ hours with layovers because there are no direct flights. On January 1, 2008 I was so excited to see so many people from HAWAII in the stands. Even one of my cousins & her husband where at the game! We were fortunate enough to go at the expense of my Dad because we definitely would not have been able to afford the $125/person tickets. (Even for our 5 year old it was $125.) We finally made it to the gates in our green shirts surrounded by all the people in red. The gate people were nice enough to direct us another way since we had the kids & it was freezing outside. We made it in & up the escalators to the circular ramp. We went round & round quite a bit until our floor & into the seating area. The seats were jam packed & our seats were in the middle of the row. Either shove my butt or crotch in peoples faces while passing through. Finally we made it to our seats & our daughter has to pee. Aaahh. We try not to offend anyone with our private areas while passing & make it to the bathroom which is quite spacious, clean & had lots of available stalls. We figured since we're already out we might as well get food. We went to the snack bar bought hotdogs, drinks, & pizza & paid enough to have the whole family over for a bar-b-que. Then we went back to our seats in the nosebleed section. The game started & it was a bit difficult to hear what was going on because we were so high that many people had radios with them as well. The opposing team showed no class with the rude comments chanting throughout the stands but, class is not something that team seems to pride themselves in. The game finished with a disappointing loss but, the experience was unbelieveable & we'll always have that memory of going to New Orleans to cherish!
