I am a fan of paranormal erotic. This is what this book in marketed to be, "Tales of Vampire Erotica". I am not sure why this book was even marketed this way. I did not know prior to receiving this book from my online booktrading site bookmooch.com that this is a collection of short stories. I am normally not a fan of short stories in general but thought I would give this one a chance. Some of the stories were so boring they put me to sleep faster than a Tylenol PM. Some were so disgusting that I do not have any idea why they were even called erotic.

Storyline (as on back of book): Beyond fear, beyond horror, beyond temptation, there is a realm of the senses that only the boldest may enter. An acclaimed master of the dark fantastic, author Poppy Z. Brite has brought together the genre's most powerful and original writers to reinvent the literature of the macabre and give it a distinctly erotic spin.

A shameless celebration of unspeakable intimacies, the stories within explore our most sinister and irrepressible hungers, those that even lovers are forbidden to share. Prepare to experience sensuality that entices, enslaves, terrorizes, and destroys. It is not for everyone. But neither is the night

Overall Opinion: I have never read any books written by Poppy Z. Bright let alone edited by her. I was not impressed. Her style of gore is not erotic to me at all. Some of the stories were interesting and different- which was why I finished reading the book but not my kind of erotic. I would only recommend this if you are a Poppy fan.
