Seldom can you find a product that has as many uses as plain old Vaseline. It's cheap, simple, and effective, yet many people don't realize the things you can do with it, and buy expensive products instead. Vaseline is a fantiastic eye makeup remover, whisking off even waterproof mascara with ease. I also found out by accident that it can be an excellent base for powder eyeshadow. Just a teeny tiny dab on the eyelid, and the shadow will stay in place all day, instead of migrating to the eye crease. The eyeshadow color is deeper and richer, as the Vaseline grabs and hold the pigment in the shadow.

It also works beautifully under powder blush. Again, just a dab on the cheekbone will bring out the color of the blush and make it extremely long wearing. Vaseline can tame eyebrows, condition eyelashes, soften lips, treat rough knees and elbows, and smooth rough feet. Apply Vaseline to the feet before bed, cover with cotton socks, and it will work all night long, aided by your body heat that is held inside the socks. It's excellent for chapped skin anywhere on the body. Foundation makeup wipes off with ease, and if you use a washcloth for wiping, you'll also exfoliate your facial skin, aided by Vaseline's lubrication.

There are more elegant products available in the beauty world, but the simplicity of Vaseline's all-purpose usefulness earns it a 5 star rating with me. It should be a beauty staple in every woman's make-up kit!
