This is the third book in Victoria Alexander's Last Man Standing series. The First book is "A little bit Wicked". and the second book is "What a Lady Wants". I was very pleased with the first two books of the series. This one was okay but not as good. The storyline starts off interesting but just kind of stretches out. Ms. Alexander was just not on her "A" game with this one.
Lady Cordelia is a head strong woman who insists she will not marry for anything other than love. Unfortunately due to family finances Cordelia may not have a choice. Her father even has the perfect man in mind, Daniel Sinclair.
Daniel does not want to marry! He loves the single life. Daniel and Cordelia pretend to be other people when they meet and even like each other. Soon the masquerade starts getting way out of hand.
Cordelia was a very funny, spoiled, headstrong character. Daniel is your average anti-marriage, sexy male.
While I still recommend this book, I just did not think it was as good as the first two in the series.
