My first experience with this perfume was when I got my Victoria's Secret holiday catalog in the mail. When I first turned to the page with the big advertisement for their new fragrance on it, I rolled my eyes a bit. Supermodel perfume? Sounded quite over the top to me. And the packaging looked so cheesy with the big square bottle with SUPERMODEL sprawled across the front of it. Reminded me of cheap store perfume brands from the 80s.
But, when I smelled it...woah. It was sweet, like how a like perfume, but very elegant at the same time. I was impressed...but not enough to jump online and buy it just yet.
I couple weeks later, I was shopping at a Victoria's Secret store and saw a display with the familiar gawdy perfume bottles. I tried a spritz on my neck before I left. I smelled that perfume on myself ALL DAY and by the time I went to bed at night I knew I had to have it. I almost wanted to go back to the store so I'd have it right away, but I found some good online promotions, so I controlled myself and placed an order.
Now that it is here, I'm wearing it every day, but hiding the bottle in a drawer instead of on display with the rest of my perfumes, because I still think the bottle is really ugly.
But, it's what's inside that counts, and this perfume can be easily overlooked if you judge it by its bottle.
The scent is light and sweet, with some chocolate or amber notes that add some richness. It actually smells a little similar to Vera Wang Princess, but is more suitable for fall/winter while Princess is more of a spring/summer scent.
It's great for wearing to work, and out. I'm going to pick up a bottle of the shimmer lotion to, to layer for a stronger scent out at night.
