I first became aware of Virbac C.E.T. Enzymatic Oral Hygiene Chews when my dogs were at the vet. These chews have a dual enzyme system that works to loosen the tarter and reduce the amount of plaque on your dog's teeth. The directions say to give your dog at least one a day.
My dogs have really enjoyed these chews. Each chew is about 5 inches or so in length and about half an inch in width. My younger dog loves to chew anything and everything so these went over great with him. His teeth are in really great condition because of this. I see next to no tarter. My older dog though does eat these chews but just not as often. I can see a difference in her teeth and my younger dog's and because of this I have to brush her teeth a little more than usual. They are excellent as a snack or treat. The bag is convenient, it has zip lock mechanism. It contains 75% protein (beefhide, poultry digest, etc) which is a lot more than a regular dog meal. Protein is extremely important in a dog's diet. It is a little pricey though. It is 6.49 at the online store, Healthy Pets. This is for 30 chews. This will usually last almost a month. I can find them in stores but they are 9.99 each. It is pricey but I am willing to pay it for my dog's dental health. I highly recommend Virbac C.E.T. Enzymatic Oral Hygiene Chews for Dogs in the small version of 30 chews.
