We use the recommended ink for our Hewlett Packard printer: hp Vivera (black and tri-color). This inkjet printer ink is bold, long lasting, and never runs.
I've used the Vivera ink to print pictures on photo paper. I swear the colors are more vivid than those you see from photo processing shops. The ink does take some time to dry, about five minutes before you can touch it. But, it is well worth the wait.
For printing black text, the color never fails. All the words are complete and dark throughout the document.
One point I mentioned was the color does not run. If you look at my attached image, you will see a project my teen did. We printed the work then soaked it with tea. There was no bleeding or fading.
The cartridges communicate with the printer. You are always aware of how much ink you have and when you need to replace the cartridges.
Even when the cartridges are low on ink you can still get rich results. I have experienced other ink cartridges that begin to fail even when they say there is still ink in the cartridge (Epson).
Another thing I noticed, comparing to others, is after the cartridge is removed and shook you don't hear wasted ink rattling around in there. To me, it means the hp Vivera cartridges are utilizing more and wasting less.
After using hp Vivera cartridges, I have become spoiled. When I have to use something else on another printer, I cringe. Kudos to hp for putting out such a quality ink cartridge.
