Set in the 1800s, the book Wagered Heart is the story of Bethany Silverton, a preacher's daughter longing for adventure, and the heart of Hawk Chandler. Hailing from Philadelphia, she moves to the small town of Sweetwater, Montana. As soon as she arrives and meets Hawk, she is instantly obsessed with gaining his attention. Upon finding out he does not attend church, she sees this as the perfect reason to make contact. Making an innocent wager with her friend turns her plans in the wrong direction when Hawk Chandler finds out. Vince Richards, a wealthy gentleman thinks Bethany is perfect for him and won't stop until he has her. Our quiet, loving, Bethany's life is soon turned into a pit of sorrow, want, and confusion.

"In God I have put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me." (Psalm 56:11, KJV) This scripture plays a significant role in the book. It touched my heart, and brought tears to my eyes as I read through Bethany's heartache and pain. As I read through this book and saw some of the decisions that Bethany made and their consequences, such as her making the bet, it really made me realize that we don't think before we do things all the time. This book really got me thinking.

The author of this amazing book is also the winner of the Christy Award for Excellence in Christian Fiction (Whispers from Yesterday), the RITA Award for Best Inspirational Romance (Patterns of Love and The Shepherd's Voice), two RT Career Achievement Awards (Americana Romance and Inspirational Fiction), and the RWA Lifetime Achievement Award, Robin is the author of over 60 novels.

I won't say anything more about the story other than to tell you it is simply amazing! This story is original, and lovely! I wish there were more than just one! It left me thinking, and wanting more! I truly hope you enjoy this heart-warming story as much as I did!
