Maybe you don't think of golf when you think of Hawaii, but you really should. This resort in Hawaii on the Big Island, has two beautiful golf courses. Rates vary. It will cost you $130 if you are a guest at the resort. If you are not staying at the resort it will cost you $195.00. Expensive yes, but you are in Hawaii after all!
The first one I played at was called the Waikoloa Beach Golf Course. Definitely a challenging course. Imagine the palm trees swaying and hearing the ocean crashing nearby. The course is so green you will think it is artifical grass. This is a Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed course. I thought the course was so unique because it is carved around the lava flow. The beauty surrounding the course made me stop and stare. I even saw some humpback whales in the ocean.
The other golf course is called Waikoloa Kings' Golf Course. This one was more difficult for me. This second course made me think that I was in Scotland. The course has beautiful green rolling fairways. This course was designed by British Open champion Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish. I loved the look of this course too. After I finished the 18th hole on this course I stopped by the Kings' Course Clubhouse and checked out the Kings' Grille. Sit back and relax and enjoy the memories and the fantastic views of Hawaii.
If you get a chance to stay at the Waikoloa Resort, call and make a tee time at check in. If the rest of your family doesn't play golf don't worry, there is so much to do at this resort. Highly recommended!
