This is a book I put off reading because I thought it wasn't any good, but boy! was I wrong. the book excerpt from the back of the book was very misleading because I was searching for a paranormal romance, but what the excerpt doesn't tell you is that there is some fine man meat in here. the main character Janie is a girl who involuntarily gets sucked into other people's dreams. Her mother is an alcoholic so Janie is very independent. My favorite part of this book is the format. It shows the time before important things happen like when she gets sucked into someone's dream. Then she meets or rather remeets Cabel (hot guy) who she begins to crush on. Unknown to her Cabel has a greater connection with her. Janie then finds out that Cabel has been "conversing" with Shay, the "mean girl." Janie discovers that Cabel has secrets he can't tell her. Lisa McMann creates such broken characters and make them find each other to lean on. I have fallen in love with this trilogy from this first book and will continue to read it. The next book, Fade has already been released and I am waiting to get my hands on it, but for now I'll just reread Wake. Now don't be disobedient! Go pick up this book!
