It was recently time to reorder checks for my husband's account so we looked online for something a little different. To my delight I found our favorite characters, the Disney Villains, available on checks from a rather unlikely source, Wal-Mart. I had no idea that Wal-Mart had a check printing department online, but they do, so we gave them a try.

There are several styles of Disney checks from Villains to Princesses and even Tinkerbell. In addition to Disney designs, they also carry classic, scenic, trendy and custom checks that are really cool, because you can upload your own pictures to be printed on them. For those who are concerned with the environment, they have Eco friendly checks as well made from recycled paper and soy based inks.

The prices are in line with most of the other mail order check companies that I have seen ads for. This does not include special offers you can get for being a first time customer with some companies. Checks come in single, duplicate and business styles. The price for a box of the Disney Villains checks start at $6.96 a box for single checks. You can order anywhere from a single box up to 4 boxes at one time.

The Villains have 8 designs featuring the characters Jafar, Cruella DeVil, the Cheshire Cat, the Evil Queen, Captain Hook, Scar, the Evil Witch and Ursula the Sea Witch on them. On each check the Villain is lightly printed in the middle of the check so it does not obstruct what you write when you fill it out. The character name is written on the check as well above the date box. These checks are the same quality paper as any other check from the bank or other check printing company.

Ordering them online was easy. You simply type in your information on their secured web site, and before you complete the order it shows you an image of exactly what the finished checks will look like with your information on them. At this point you can go in and make changes to anything you don't like.

There are several shipping options to choose from depending on how fast you want to get them. We chose the standard shipping, which was the least expensive at $2.95. This included a $2.95 handling fee so you could say the shipping was free. For this price they took about 8 days to get to us. Unfortunately, they came packaged in a brown cardboard box that looked like a pack of checks. If you live in an area where checks are commonly stolen from mail boxes, you might want to upgrade the shipping to either traceable or overnight for safety.

All in all we are pleased with the price, quality and service from Wal-Mart, so we would order checks from them again.

I was going to use real images of the checks I have but even though I covered all the numbers I was uncomfortable doing that so I have taken them off. They do however look like the pictures on the screen shot I have included.

Update On Jul 06, 2010: Here is a link to the Walmart check printingwebsite if anyone is interested in "checking" it out. Sorry for the pun, I just could not resist. http://www.walmartchecks.com/
